If you enjoy playing video games, but you want to take your experience to the next level, it’s important to have a strong internet connection. Having a great internet connection for gaming, differs to the internet speed recommended to stream Netflix for example. The best way to answer this question is to break it down a bit. First, what kind of game are you playing? If it’s an MMO (massively multiplayer online) game like World of Warcraft or League of Legends, then you’ll need a pretty fast connection – a speed of at least 5 mbps (megabits per second). If your game is single-player, like Call of Duty or Grand Theft Auto V, then you don’t necessarily need as much bandwidth. A speed of 3 Mbps will probably be fine.
When you’re playing online multiplayer games, having a good connection is even more important. In order for two players’ computers to communicate with one another, they must both have fast enough internet speeds so that the game can run smoothly without any interruptions or delays. If one player has slow internet speeds, then their computer will take longer than normal to send data back and forth between each other – which could result in lost connections or dropped packets during gameplay.
